The Carr Center on Human Rights Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School will hold “Pride & Prejudice: Film festival, and Symposium” on 11 – 12 April 2019 about decriminalizing same-sex relations. Across the world, same-sex relationships are being decriminalized in India (2018), Belize (2016), Nauru (2016), Seychelles (2016), Mozambique (2015), Lesotho (2012), Fiji (2010), and the British Virgin Islands (2001).
However, the progress is slow, in large part, as the hearts and minds of the broader population are not invested in this change.
We need to support lawyers and activists trying to overturn some of these colonial-era laws that criminalize adult consensual relationships between same-sex couples and can by helping people understand the love does not have a gender.
